Timothy Crawford
Instrument: Violin
Age: 14
Audition Pieces: Nigun (Bloch)

Background Info:

Timothy is a Year 10 student and receives private lessons from Simon Fischer.

The Start of a Talent
Timothy began playing the violin very young, encouraged by his parents who are both professional violinists themselves.  After attending Primary Royal Academy he then also began learning the piano.  From the age of 6-13 Timothy was a chorister at Temple Church which he feels has benefited his sense of pitch and expanded his knowledge of repertoire.

Special Playing Memories
2009 saw Timothy's first year with the National Youth Orchestra, offering his first experience of playing with a full symphony orchestra.  Playing in the Proms in the Royal Albert Hall last Summer was also an incredible experience which "blew him away".

Music Preferences
Timothy enjoys listening to chamber music from the classical and romantic periods, especially when performed by the Amadeus and Janacek quartets.  In contrast he also enjoys House and Dubstep with artists such as Sub Focus, Coki and Noisia being amongst his favourites.

The Future
In five years' time Timothy hopes to study music at college or university.
