Deni is in Year 11 at North
London Collegiate School and receives cello lessons from Robin Michael
when she attends the Junior Royal Academy of Music on Saturdays.
The Start of a Talent
Deni started to play the Cello aged 7,
receiving tuition at school from Pamela Moody. She also plays piano
and previously had a double first study of Cello and piano but because of
her love for orchestras and chamber groups she is now focusing on the
cello.
Special Playing Memories
Deni is a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and one
of her most exciting musical experiences so far was a performance with
them of Stravinsky's 'The Rite of Spring' in the Barbican - 'the concert
was absolutely electric'.
Music Preferences
Deni enjoys listening to a wide range of music, from Cobra Starship to
Shostakovich.
Inspiration
Rostropovich and Yo Yo Ma offer Deni her inspiration for her cello
playing.
The Future
Deni hopes to study music at a music college and is determined to form a
career as a professional orchestral and chamber group cellist. |
