The
Brent Young Musician of the
Year Competition
This exciting initiative is organised by Brent Music Service,
and has previously been an annual competition that demonstrates the
musical talents held within the borough. It is open to young
musicians who live in or attend a school in the London Borough of
Brent. Auditions take place at the BMS Evening Centres from which
six finalists are selected to perform at the final stage of the
competition.
2007
2007's
finals saw Savitri Grier take the title on violin followed by an
outstanding guest performance at the Brent Makes Music 2007 showcase at
Wembley Arena.
2008
2008's winner was David Wong on clarinet, once
again culminating his title with an enthralling appearance at the Brent
Makes Music 2008 event. Find
out more about David Wong and the 2008
competition.
2010
This
competition will now be run as a bi-annual event with the next
opportunity taking place for the title of Brent Young Musician of the
Year 2010. Auditions will take place a few months beforehand and
details will be provided on this website when available.
In
the meantime, 2009 and 2011 will now make way for the up-and-coming
younger musicians who will be able to compete in the Brent
Junior Musician of the Year competition.
