Brent Junior Ensemble
The BMS Junior Ensemble learns and performs a wide range of musical styles, giving its members a great opportunity to experience music from different cultures, different eras and in different formats.

What does the Brent Junior Ensemble do?
This mixed ensemble is a fantastic way of improving your playing and meeting others of a similar standard. Play in the band, sing and work on your rhythmic skills with our team of experienced tutors. The Junior Ensembles give regular concerts, and have performed onstage at Wembley Arena.

What instruments are included?
The Brent Junior Ensemble includes brass, woodwind, strings (not guitar) and percussion instruments.  To find out exactly which instruments this means, visit our Instruments section to look at the various families of instruments under each of these headings.

Where does it take place?
The Brent Junior Ensembles take place at the following BMS Evening Centres:
BMS Claremont Evening Centre on Mondays 5.00pm-7.00pm
BMS Wembley Evening Centre on Tuesdays 5.00pm-7.00pm
BMS Queen's Park Evening Centre on Wednesdays 5.00pm-7.00pm

How old do I have to be?
The Brent Junior Ensemble is open to all 8-13 year olds who meet the entry requirements.

How much does it cost?
It's free!

How do you join?
Generally, entry is by invitation through your Brent Music Service instrument tutor.  When they feel you have reached the desired level on your instrument they will approach you with the opportunity to join.  This ensures that you are at a playing level which enables you to make the most of the benefits of the Brent Junior Ensemble.

Alternatively, if you attend a school in the London borough of Brent but are not currently taught an instrument by a Brent Music Service tutor, you are very welcome to come for an audition to join.  Once you've selected the BMS Evening Centre which is most convenient for you to reach for the rehearsal day and time indicated, please contact that Evening Centre and everything can be discussed to find a way forward.

If you don't belong to a school in the London borough of Brent but are still interested in what the Brent Junior Ensemble has to offer, please contact us to discuss your options.

Something to think about ...
The importance of music in every child’s life is unparalleled.  Music provides opportunities for self-expression, creativity and achievement.  By learning an instrument or learning to sing and participating in musical ensembles, not only is it fun, but important life skills are developed in problem solving, teamwork, goal-setting, self-confidence and self-esteem.

The Brent Junior Ensemble can help you make that difference and make new friends along the way!
